User Interface and functionality The application offers the use an easy-to-use and understand user interface which allows users to track their various outdoor activities by the touch of a button. To utilize the tracking functions offered by the application, all the users have to do is tell the program to start when they begin their journey and then it begins to track or log all the important information it collects from the users’ jog, run or other activities. The program offers a simple and easy to comprehend tracking screen that shows the current speed at which a user is traveling, the distance they have traveled, total time spent traveling and the time spent moving when traveling along with the elevations the users have traveled. The program also allows users view and read their minimum and maximum speeds, elevation grades and gradients. But apart from simply displaying a group of numbers, the application comes with the ability to track the entire route taken by the user while logging, hiking or biking via Google Maps. The mapping software is simple and easy to understand, all the users have to do is just choose the Google Maps option from the main options page and a particular route is auto displayed on the screen with a bright red path depicting the trail taken by the user. The application makes wonderful use of Google Androids GPS abilities. The detailed map of the trail taken by a user is very easy to comprehend and the application also allows users to share the application with their friends. MyTracks for Android application is also designed to allow users to export all of their route information into Google Docs for storing the track and other activity information online and for sharing records with other users who may want to compare a user’s progress or best travel times with their logs. The application also saves a user’s past maps so that they can be viewed later by the user who wishes to go on a familiar trail and improve old time records if any.
