Hey Guys I got everything working finally, I just redid everything started from scratch and just installed icewm instead, my question is Justin said someone said there is a way to change the script so that when you exit the debian shell it won't reboot the phone, does anyone know what script I actually have to change ??

Hi,

It's the bootdeb script, towards the bottom, under the line that says rebooting for a clean shutdown. It's line 106 in the version I have here.

Just add a couple hashes ( ## ) before the line that contains 'reboot' and save the file. This was one of the first changes I made to that script, I must say

hth,
adric

I had things working to an extent (I couldn't get the xterm on the icewm to come up) so I mucked about a bit (installing and removing xfce4 after realizing it was way too huge). I started getting vnc connection failed. I removed tightvncserver (including commenting out the .bashrc changes and removing the old xstartup and passwd from .vnc) and reinstalled resetting the password etc, but now I still get vnc connection failed. any suggestions? any help is greatly appreciated. thanks!

why debian?? 11 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Hello Ghostwalker,

I am a final year computer engineering student from India. I am working on RDP clients on Android platforms. My work draws inspiration from rdesktop(based on X11) and grdc(based on GNOME)

Can you tell me why was DEBIAN the only way to port gnome/ kde/ lxde etc?
Wasn't it possible to do that without debian images and all??
Is it not possible to have these desktop environments (DE) on Android linux kernel?
Is there any work done on the sister concept Palmtop Environment (PE) for Android?

Pardon me if you find me ignorant about these issues. If tomorrow i build a RDP client using debian, i won't be able to release it in a product form!! Because to use such client the user has to run debian. Thats something common users would be reluctant to do.

Thank you,

Neer ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it )
